Car tunes

I'm wondering why i like retro so much. Is it because of re-discovering something familiar that was hidden away in some secret cache in some depth of my brain?

Esp. retro chinese and oldies. 4 Heavenly Kings.

Well last time before i started pri school i used to accompany mom to work. Will seat in the front seat. She'll take me to eat Mcdonalds at the Yung Ho area (still stands there) where they had a driveway. Breakfast was big breakfast for $5 or hotcakes. we'll bring the stuff to her office and i enjoyed spreading the honey on the pancakes and eating the honey-soaked pancakes.

And she'll switch on 93.3 where they had all these tunes. Those tunes were the latest in the Chinese Top 40. And sometimes i can hum to these tunes. And sometimes she'll slip in a casette of the popular Hokkien songs, like ai pia zai eh yia.

Dad used to drive me around too. I remember one memorable time where we were zipping down the AYE-ECP where they had that magnificient stretch of viaduct along keppel where u can see all the cranes at the port. It was midnight and we were sending an uncle off, and on the way back.

The street lights that illuminated the highway and the night sky looked like two endless rows of heralds that stretched into the horizon, welcoming us - the only car. i felt like a king. haha. and playing night music on class 95 was excellent as well, especially when it's a fast song and we're going at 100kph. cool!
