Blogging... finally

Mood: down.

Hmm, decide to blog because of someone who wants to read.. but yeah i haven't blogged for very long anyway...

Yeah... ever since 25 june i really haven't had a good break... kept on doing things. Home seems like a hostel room, when you come home just to sleep and have dinner...

I shall blog about some of the things during this period.

(1) Part 4: Preceptorship - i guess, it was shitty - to an extent. Yeah i learnt a lot... but i would rather have the nice-preceptor type as some of my friends did. Hearing them extol many virtues about their preceptors and listening to myself falling silent when they expect me to describe my own, makes me feel that, why did we do it all for?

Although are times that preceptorship was fun, more so when you finally learn the slight tricks of the trade. And there was the nice company of pre-regs and my colleague Entian, as well as the pharmacy staff there which sent me through the hell.

To all my friends - you may have nice fond memories of your workplace and the experiences had there, but I just wanted to say for my case: Thank God It Ended.

My grade wasn't at all fantastic - i don't think anyone got less than i did. The fault lies partly with myself too, so can't say much about that. I'm not revealing much.

(2) Part 5: Genting Holidays - never knew that going on a holidays would be such a stressful event. I didn't know why. I didn't enjoy myself as much as i wanted. The many choices i made, some of them terribly wrong.

Berjaya Hills is an extremely quaint place with nice hilly versions of Alsace-Lorraine in France, with similar replicas of castles and towns. Lovely. I'd recommend all fans of fairy tales to go and visit there.

Highlights of the trip there were swimming in air-con conditions (it's about 2000-3000 ft above sea level), an hour-long trek up a hill for about 1-2km, the nice surroundings, the lovely castle-town we stayed in, and the rolling hills. And, of course, the air-con.

Genting was quite a disappointment. Met another couple from pharmacy (is it so popular?) up there. The whole place feels like a gigantic shopping complex - registration is so complex and bureaucratic - there's separate counters for tour groups and individual guests, where you had to queue up and take a number (gosh!)

We didn't go for the more thrilling rides located in the outdoor theme park due to my epileptic condition. Instead we opted for the first world theme park which was something like Korea's Lotte World, but with less fun. It had alot of family-themed rides, which were SLOW and BORING, but little of the exciting stuff.

We played dodgems (quite good), some roller coaster (very short!) and there was this 4D-experience thing which was a disappointment. We had more fun eating the various eateries there though, there's like a 20% discount wrt Singaporean prices on food.

Watched Transformers there, it was quite good =) Felt like a king in the exclusive seating (RM 15).

(3) First Week of School

Sunday - did emed video for recruitment: 8am to 3pm. call it retribution. then did the usual stuff like print notes, note the timetable, etc. It suddenly dawned to me that the workload of TWO recruitment drives may, no, will, drive me crazy. PLUS - i haven't finished my preceptorship report. PLUS - secret project is not done yet. Basically, i'm screwed. And i wanted to spend the last day of holidays with nuan.

Monday - Shaggest day: 7am to 11pm, non-stop.
8am: pharmaco lecture. thyroid system. quite interesting.
10am: dfd2 lecture. prof kurup is quite patient, but he goes very slowly. zzzz.
12pm: rushed to biz for financial accounting lecture. can see that this module is somewhat useful. but hectic... and the lecturer is funny, but he is not very sympathetic towards students: "lecturers and teaching staff are not responsible for your bidding. don't go after them."
2pm: rushed back to sci for patho lecture. two lecturers: the ang mo guy was totally useless in going through Cell Injury. total waste of time. the singaporean uncle was firebrand, so powerful that i was scribbling like mad until he finished.
4pm: meeting with nusps, to introduce more about yep. at last a breather.
7pm: dinner with bingxun to discuss more about yep, as well as plan the recruitment drive.
11pm: left nus.

Tuesday - only one lecture - Med Chem - for today. Only two hours, but dunno why i was so darn drowsy. Actually slept in the lecture, despite having like 8 hours of sleep. Was so groggy and dazed, i just left Bingxun to present to the year 4s alone - which was a good choice - he presented so much better than me.
